The days grow longer and warmer across the country in June. By the end of June in Florida it can be downright HOT! So this local bride chose two indoor venues for her special day. The ceremony took place at First Presbyterian Church on Oak Street in Sarasota. The aisle was decorated from front to back with shimmering silver bows with yellow Asiatic lilies and greenery and swags of soft ivory tulle. Silk rose petals of hot pink, yellow and purple were scattered on the aisle runner.

Attendants, dressed in plum colored tea length dresses, preceded the bride down the aisle carrying colorful bouquets of yellow Asiatic lilies, hot pink roses, yellow Gerbera daisies, purple Bombay orchids and lily grass. The bride carried a cascade style bouquet of white Asiatic lilies with yellow spray roses and purple Bombay orchids adding a bit of color against her white gown. Boutonnieres for the men in the wedding party were either purple Bombay or white dendrobium orchids with grass loops.

Bird Key Yacht Club was selected as the perfect place for dinner and dancing. Large glass cubes with graceful silver manzanita branches dripping with crystal prisms and hanging votives transformed the dining room. Yellow lilies, purple orchids and fanciful white ostrich plumes were arranged at the base of the branches. A band of hot pink ribbon around the cube finished off the pop of color on the ivory linens. The wedding party dined at a feasting table covered in rich plum colored linens and decorated with ivory tulle and ostrich plumes. Vases holding the attendant’s bouquets ran the length of the table. Ostrich plumes sprayed from tower vases at either end of the table.

Old Heidelberg Pastry Shop created a gorgeous stacked cake that dared you to cut it. Fresh flowers added to its beauty couldn’t enhance it’s amazing taste. These locations allowed guests to enjoy the best as well as keep their cool indoors. Congrats on another job well done by the staff at Bird Key Yacht Club, Old Heidelberg Pastry Shop and the design team at Flowers by Fudgie!
