You just cannot go wrong with a candlelit wedding in Sarasota! The wedding ceremony was held at Saint Barbara’s Greek Orthodox Church, which featured a candlelit aisle. Every other pew end was adorned with white roses tucked into ivy cascading down the single candelabrum.
The wedding reception was held at Ritz Carlton Sarasota. I do not think I have seen the Ritz Ballroom as grand as it was that night with the soft lighting effect and draping fabric (by Affairs in the Air), coupled with the striking floral arrangements that the Fudgie designers did on site. Two styles of wedding flower arrangements were used. Both in tall vases but one with long white orchids with chandeliered hanging votives and the other of tall curly willow branches with white dendrobium orchids attached and crystals garlands raining from the branches and many hanging votive candles. The branches stood 5 to 6′ tall of the tables which filled the room with it tall ceiling.
The long head table with its fabulous linen was flanked with crystal 5-branch candelabrum topped with white orchids and then lined with dozens of candles between. The placecard table in the pre-function area at the Ritz Carlton Sarasota had a vase of tall curly willow branches with crystals and tiny orchids on monofilament. The monofilament rained from its branches. This impressive piece was in the center of all the place cards that spiraled out from it base.
The sparkle of the crystals in the candlelight made for an absolutely awesome look.
Maria Brady of Choreographed Events is always great to work with. She brought in special linen for the cake and head table that were just exquisite. Planning this up scaled wedding was a huge undertaking but done with easy by Maria. You will see by looking at our photo gallery that Tibor of Imley Photography, did an outstanding job capturing the event.
