Hot pink and lime green made this wedding a stand-out in more ways than one! This bride was full of personality and her color choice reflected it! This wedding was at the gorgeous Powel Crosley Estate and it was a stunner!
The bright and beautiful bride carried a colorful bouquet which included lime green cymbidium orchids, fugi mums, bupleurum and hypericum berries, raspberry hydrangea and ranunculus and medium pink roses…it was chock full of flowers and color!
The bride also had us add a couple of charms and a pin that belonged to her late mother on the handle of the bouquet as a way of remembering her and honoring her memory. This has become a popular option when a bride has lost a loved one. We are honored to include some memorabilia or a small photo charm to help celebrate the memory of a loved one. It adds to the meaning and beauty of the day. The bride also added a single green cymbidium orchid in the side of her hair.
We also honored the bride’s mother by laying a long stem pink rose in her mother’s chair, as a memorial to her. She had lost her life to breast cancer so the pink rose was very important to the bride.
Additionally, after the reception late that night, we returned to pick up the flowers and transported them to the Sarasota Hospice House so others could enjoy the flowers. This is something we frequently do, especially for our destination brides.
We love to make beautiful weddings, but we often feel it is shame that the flowers cannot be enjoyed after the wedding! So we pick them up after the wedding and return them to the shop coolers and take them to Tidewell’s Sarasota Hospice House on Monday mornings. Wonderful volunteers there take the time to distribute them and sometimes make them into smaller bouquets so they can be enjoyed by many patients and visitors. It’s a wonderful way to use the flowers, but more importantly, it helps bring joy and beauty to someone’s day!
The bridesmaids wore a lustrous dark brown. Their bouquets featured lime green hydrangea, fugi mums, button poms and small dendrobium orchids with raspberry mini carnations. They gave a super bright pop of color against their gowns!
And let’s not forget the men: their boutonnieres were small green button poms with some of the hypericum berries added…just right!
The ceremony itself was on the loggia at the Crosley—we used the natural arch columns and designed colorful arrangements that were later brought inside and used on the feasting tables.
At the entry to the loggia, we used our black lanterns with trailing greenery. This area becomes the dance floor after the ceremony so the added candlelight is a nice glowing touch!
For the reception, the smaller guest tables had glass cubes with a simple natural cluster in the pink and lime green. The bridesmaids bouquets were later used on the mantel along with candles.
The delcious food was provided by Simply Gourmet Catering! They always do an amazing job and you cannot beat Chef Larry’s menu!
