This wedding was an absolute treat for the Flowers by Fudgie team for a very special reason, as it was a childhood friend of our owner’s daughter! Becki remembers going on a fun Girl Scout camping trip with this young lady and watching her grow up alongside her own daughter and their other friends—what a delight to now be a part of her wedding day!
This beautiful bride is not a “girly girl!” She prefers simple and clean, and her choice of flowers throughout the wedding reflected this simplicity. She chose to use Calla Lilies for herself and her bridesmaids in simple hand-tied clusters banded with ribbon. Stunning!
The men had Dendrobium orchid boutonnieres, and the moms had the same small orchids for their corsages. And since the bridesmaids were in dazzling cobalt blue dresses, the flower girl carried a gorgeous pompadour ball of deep blue orchids with a few white spray roses and ribbon down the aisle! The color was amazing!
The ceremony took place at the always lovely First Church on Pineapple in downtown Sarasota, which has a beautifully renovated sanctuary. We kept the decor simple with 2 elegant Calla Lily arrangements with interesting greenery on glass pedestals. These pedestals were later transferred to reception site, The Francis, and placed on either side of the sweetheart table. We love to create beautiful and reusable arrangements for our brides!
The Francis, adjacent to Louie’s Modern, has a distinct contemporary feel and is Sarasota’s newest boutique special events venue; it’s a great place for a modern bride! The decor chosen by the bride was an absolute perfect fit for this reception site. Wayne Delair of DeLair Entertainment was the DJ for the evening, but he also brought in wonderful uplighting in blue into the reception room, which complemented the overall look of this reception.
To continue the clean and modern look for the reception, we used tall cylinders with LED lighting in the base for the tables. Half of the tables had cylinders with Calla Lilies inside, and the other half had cylinders with submerged white orchids.
We believe we delivered what this bride wanted: simple and elegant, yet budget friendly! That may sound like a tall order, but we specialize in making dreams come true for our brides!
