The extreme heat couldn’t detract from the romance and beauty of this summertime wedding at Sarasota’s Hyatt Regency. The garden gazebo was absolutely stunning with trailing runners of wisteria and wild smilax greenery. White floral sprays interspersed with white roses provided an ethereal effect backdrop for the ceremony.
The ceremony itself took place in the sunken garden area, with rose petals scattered down the center aisle leading up to the central arbor. At each side of the arbor were statement pieces on pedestals decorated with smilax greenery and white roses. The dripping white flowers provide movement and a gentle flow to embrace the special couple.
The lovely bride carried a special bouquet of blush peonies and ranunculus, lavender freesias, blush roses, dried lavender, and delicate astilbe. Having the contrast of those soft colors against all the white of the ceremonial altar and the bride’s beautiful gown made the bouquet even more special. Her bridesmaids carried smaller versions of her bouquet but with simple blush and white flowers. The handsome groom and his groomsmen wore simple white spray rose boutonnieres.
The reception was held in the Hyatt’s boathouse. The wood beams in the ceiling were decorated with smilax greenery, twinkle lights and hanging crystals. The tables boasted beautiful footed bowls with florals and assorted candles. All of the colors reflected the theme of blushes, whites, green and just a hint of lavender. Not to detract from the beautiful bride and her bouquet, however, the sweetheart table was simply garnished with greenery.
The greenery and simple tones of blush, white and lavender, together with the hanging crystals, provided the illusion of refreshing coolness for this summertime affair.
