Siesta Key Wedding: Beautiful Tropical Theme

This destination wedding took place on the beach at the beautiful Gulf and Bay Condos on Siesta Key. The couple also had their reception in the clubhouse, which was catered by Nellie’s Deli, and Al Gordon Photography took photos. The bride wanted the beach theme to be carried out with shells and palm fronds and lots of color.

She decided to keep the bridal bouquet and the bridesmaids in more subtle colors of green and white using cymbidium orchids for her bouquet and the bridesmaids carried nautilus shells filled with orchids. This is a great idea as we provide a stand for the bouquet so they can easily be displayed on the head table at the reception. We always like to suggest ways of getting double duty out of ceremony or personal flowers that can be reused at the reception.

The beach ceremony included a bamboo canopy for the bride and groom and officiates. The canopy was decorated with sheer fabric to soften the look and bold tropical flowers on the upper corners. The aisle was lined with rose petals and the back of the aisle we used 2 bamboo floor vases with birds of paradise and red ginger and other tropical flowers. The chairs also included a palm frond.

The reception tables had monstera leaf chargers and the napkins with trimmed with small green dendrobium orchids. The centerpieces included a grouping of glass cubes some with tropical flowers others with shells and floating candles. The place card table was trimmed with a conk shell filled with lilies and orchids and alstromeria. Using 6′ palm trees also helped to carried out our tropical theme. The palms with up lighting were provided by Brett at Made in the Shade plant rental. The trees were used in the corners of the room and at the entry.
