Color and whimsy set the stage for this absolutely magical wedding at Windsong Farms in Sarasota. Unique touches and creative ideas set this special day apart like no other!
The ceremony took place on a small idyllic pond with a wooden deck-like platform. Lots of roses and rose petals were used in bright colors to float in the pond. Simple hand-tied clusters of bright flowers in a wild flower fashion were used to dress up the posts on the platform. Flowers included happy sunflowers, hot pink garden rose, purple daisies, yellow buttons and lilies, and bright blue delphinium!
The bridesmaids looked sublime in lime green dresses carrying wild flower bunches tied with raffia. However, the stunning bride chose a much different direction for her bouquet. She carried a specially made Jewel or Broach Bouquet of pins and broaches– many of which the bride brought in and some additional ones included by Flowers by Fudgie. The piece de resistance was an antique lime green and turquoise pin given to the bride by the groom’s grandmother that was placed right in the center of this jeweled wonder!
The men’s boutonnieres made a statement as well. They were made of feathers and blue wire for something interesting and a bit different. Peacock feathers were added for punch of blue and green; they looked great with their blue and green bow ties!
The sweetheart table for the couple was stunning with a chandelier suspended from a beautiful oak tree over the table. The guest tables were simply elegant with vases of curly willow branches with a mini sunflower attached to them for a touch of color! The base of each cylinder was surrounded by 3 small glass cubes with an LED light and topped with a large cheery sunflower.
The dance floor, a clearing in the trees, was lined with café lights. Colorful umbrellas hung over the dance floor with colorful LED lights helping to light up the area as night drew near.
Overall, it was a beautiful spring day and evening with temperature near perfect. The bride’s parents chose to be cautious and had a tent put up in the event of rain, which was predicted at 30-40%. Soon after the cake was cut, the wedding was blessed with a bit of a shower! Everyone made a scramble to the tent and the caterers carried the cake table to the tent as well. Several of the dinner tables were cleared and brought to the tent and the party continued! It was a great evening that finished with a fire and s’mores! What a spectacular wedding!
This wedding was extra special for Flowers by Fudgie as it was for the son of a friend, who also happens to be in the wedding business! The groom’s parents, Tammy and Joel Gamso, are outstanding hair and make artists and work on location for weddings with their business, Finishing Touches. The caterer was Jamie from Simply Gourmet Catering and the DJ was Ed Robinson from More than Music.
