Although Costa Rica has its own beautiful beaches, it didn’t stop a couple who lives there from having their dream destination wedding on a beautiful beach here in Sarasota, Florida! And planning their destination wedding was a piece of cake because the bride’s wedding planners and parents are the owners of Affairs in the Air—Lighting and Decor specialists!
To say this wedding was beautiful would truly be an understatement! A striking red and black theme was chosen for this spectacular day.
The wedding took place on the beach at the always dazzling Longboat Key Club. The mesmerizing bride chose to carry lush red roses and the bridesmaids carried white roses to compliment their red dresses. The contrast was exquisite!
The ceremony took place under a bamboo canopy with sheer fabric and red roses with the stunning Gulf of Mexico as the backdrop. The aisle was lined with palm fronds and had 2 lovely palm arrangements at the aisle entrance.
The reception was held in the John Ringling Room at the club. Affairs in the Air transformed this room, often used for conference meetings, into a gorgeous ballroom for the happy couple. They draped every wall with white glowing satin fabric and did tie backs in some areas where a large mirror was used to get a double reflection—stunning!
They also built special chandeliers that had glass balls suspended from them in the center of the room and smaller ones throughout. The night time effect was astonishing! They also used a wash of lighting on the draped walls to give the room a soft warm glow.
Flowers by Fudgie added to that glow by using a tall bling candelabra with 5 votive holders on top…these were amazing! Red roses where at the base of each candelabra which were on black and white table linens provided by Affairs in the Air. Red roses cascaded down the cake as well which was designed by Pastries by Design.
And all these fabulous memories were captured by the creative and professional Sage Art Photography. Their work never disappoints! Please be sure to check out all the remarkable photos in the gallery below!
And the bride’s stepfather, native to Hawaii, presented the couple with traditional Tuberose leis, a beautiful touch to a beautiful day. It is always a delight to work with Carolyn and Phil from Affairs in the Air, but even more so to make their daughter’s wedding a dream come true!
