What a glorious setting for a wonderful wedding! And what a joy it was to provide the flowers for an event held at a venue dedicated to the conservation of the beauty and natural resources of our beloved Suncoast!
As the guests arrived for the ceremony, they were greeted by a welcome sign embellished with a swag of greenery and flowers. The entrance to the aisle was flanked with low arrangements so that the views would not be diminished, and petals were scattered on the aisle runner which led to the focal point – the ceremonial arch. On that beautiful lawn, and facing the water at Bay Preserve, a nine-foot garden arch was adorned with lush greenery and an abundance of roses in pale shades of white, cream ivory and blush.
The gorgeous bride carried a garden-style bouquet which featured white, blush and spray roses and ranunculus, and her bridesmaids, dressed in soft pink gowns, and the mothers of the happy couple carried bouquets containing the same floral arrangements, just on a smaller scale. The smiling groom and his groomsmen wore simple boutonnieres of a white ranunculus bloom with just a touch of greenery.
Held in a clear tent to take advantage of the views, the reception featured a 32-foot-long head table which had a continuous garden of roses and greenery running down the center and spilling over the edges. The flowers were embellished with floating candles and gold votives, and every place setting featured a single white phalaenopsis orchid bloom placed between the menu and the napkin. These orchids were guaranteed to maintain their beauty for the evening, since they are “low light” blooms!
To reflect the varieties in nature, the guest tables featured three different centerpiece styles, although all the tables had a variety of candle placements: first, a grand arrangement of hydrangeas, garden roses and greenery atop a clear vase; second, a relaxed garden-style arrangement on gold mercury glass-footed bowls; and third, three small gold vases, each holding a few roses and ranunculus. Of course, each guest found a single blush spray rose bloom on his or her napkin!
