A lovely wedding recently took place at Sarasota’s wonderful Church of the Redeemer. While the church does not allow floral decorations during wedding ceremonies, all eyes were on the beautiful bride whose bouquet was almost ethereal with its cream-colored roses, lilies of the valley and bits of stephanotis for contrast. Her attendants carried smaller bouquets of the same floral combination, and the handsome groom and his groomsmen sported single white roses with just a touch of green in their boutonnieres.
The two adorable flower girls carried bouquets of open white garden roses with a collar of baby’s breath. The glowing mothers of the bride and groom carried small bouquets of white roses enhanced by a collar of salal (lemon) leaves and a bit of stephanotis.
Offering a bit of a tropical feel to the event, the elegant reception was held in a tent on the grounds of the fabulous Longboat Key Club. Fresh greenery was wrapped around every one of the tent posts, with the tent entrance and stage area flanked by large palm trees. All of the floral décor was kept to white and green, which was echoed by the green and clear crystal glasses at each table. To keep the visual image, while simple, exciting, we utilized two styles of centerpieces on the tables. Half of the tables used tall clear bases, and the other half featured short clear footed bowls.
The short bowls were lined in leaves and contained white flowers – the taller centerpieces utilized dark green leaves with touches of white florals. Throughout we kept things fun and interesting with a variety of greenery, such as lemon leaves, ferns, Italian ruscus and aspidistra leaves. Of course, all of the tables were accented with cylinders containing either floating or gold votive candles.
As always, it was a pleasure to work with these other great vendors and wonderful venues who made the day so special for the bride and groom and their families and friends:
